I&#8217;m not even sure now since I&#8217;ve had it for such a long time. I&#8217;ve tried so many things (not orally though), so many prescriptions, washes, creams. You name it, I probably tried it at some point. I asked my dermatologist (with big sad puppy eyes) if there is anything that he can prescribe me to try&#8230;anything else?! and he gave me &#8220;erythromycin with benzoyl peroxide topical gel.&#8221; This is the first thing that has actually started working!<\/p>\n<p>Along with the cream, I&#8217;ve been doing microdermabration to take off the dead skin cells and to get rid of a lot of scarring I&#8217;ve acquired over decades of acne. It has been helping. Before that I did some chemical peels, and now I&#8217;m on the cream and for now, it works. I&#8217;m crossing my fingers hoping my skin is changing and that acne will go away completely&#8230;but you never know (my cosmetologist said it&#8217;ll work for about a year aaaaaaaaaaah! \ud83d\ude41 ). The cream is actually an antibiotic and those things don&#8217;t work forever. So this is sort of bittersweet. I&#8217;ll use it as long as it works, and as long as I can take it.
